Hawaii does not sell a registered-agent product. BREG records who will accept service of process. You can name yourself. There is no DCCA subscription for that role.

Who must have a registered agent

Printed in current HRS, not inferred. Domestic profit corporations (§414-61), nonprofits (§414D-71), LLCs (§428-107), and limited partnerships (§425E-114) must continuously maintain a registered agent with a business address in this State. Partnerships designate or change under §425-19.

Form X-7 lists profit corporation, nonprofit, general partnership, limited partnership, LLLP, LLP, and LLC. Sole proprietorships and unregistered trade names are not in those RA-must-maintain sections. If you never formed a filing entity, this page is not your door.

Street address, hours, public record

HRS §425R-3 requires an actual street address or rural route box number in the State. Form X-7 says number-and-street place of business. A P.O. box is not that field.

Chapter 425R as fetched does not print “9 a.m.–5 p.m.” Vendor pages (Northwest, LegalZoom) print regular business hours. Those are vendor statements, not a numbered DCCA clock.

Form X-7 footer: all business registration filings are open to public inspection (HRS §92F-11). DIY puts your name and Hawaii street address on an inspectable agent line. That is the privacy contrast with a commercial agent, not a DCCA fee.
